How Am I Doing?

From time to time, we all ask ourselves, "How am I doing?" It's human nature to want the approval of others. And not just people, but even dogs, like my beloved Binks above. "Is everything all right?" These are important questions just not for our own sense of self-worth but because it's the only way to know if we need to make forward error corrections. I don't want to keep making the same mistakes over and over again. That's insanity! So, it's important for us to ask our clients, business associates, friends, family and those with whom we are in a relationship that important question. For me, it goes even a step further. I want my readers to tell me how I'm doing with my books. That's why reviews are so important to an author. We care about our readers and want to know how we're doing in your eyes. While the old adages, "You can't win them all" and "You can't please everyone" apply, it's important for me to know from those who like to read stories told through a dog's eyes about unconditional love ... and vampire mystery thrillers ... how I'm doing.

Why is the answer to "How am I doing" important? It tells me what I should do next. Isn't that what it tells you with your relationships?

So, on September 1st, I'll be launching Season 2 of Snow Blood - A Vampire Mystery Thriller. I'm hoping that what I lovingly call my "street team" members will be a part of that launch.
